Margaret Curran MP Opens New bss Operation In Cambuslang

Margaret Curran, Member of Parliament for Glasgow East and Shadow Work and Pensions Minister, today officially opened the new bss facilities at Cambuslang.

bss is a long established UK wide provider of outsourced multi-channel contact centre, response handling and mailing services. It has now relocated its Glasgow operations into a new integrated facility at Cambuslang.

Formed 35 years ago, the company is a not for profit organisation and has charitable status in Scotland with other facilities in Edinburgh, Leicester and Manchester. It currently employs 63 people at its Glasgow operation across a broad range of functions including print and fulfilment operations, warehousing and client services.

Clients include the BBC, HMRC, the Big Lottery, the Skills Funding Agency and the Scottish National Blood Transfusion service.

Addressing bss staff and other guests and unveiling a plaque to commemorate the occasion, Margaret Curran said "I am delighted to be able to officially welcome bss to Glasgow East. It is fantastic that a company with 35 years of experience is bringing its expertise and job opportunities to this part of Glasgow."

Welcoming Margaret Curran to the opening, bss chief executive Peter Calderbank said, "We at bss are very grateful to Margaret for sparing the time to be with us on this important occasion. By siting all our facilities and state of the art technology at this new location in Cambuslang, we are showing our commitment to the area. Our ambition is to develop our services and client base which in turn will create new job opportunities for local people."
