bss expertise powers the National Eczema Society helpline
There are nearly six million people in the UK
suffering from eczema, a skin condition which impacts severely on
every day life and can be challenging to manage. Formed in 1975,
the National Eczema Society has two principal aims: to provide
people with expert advice about treating and managing eczema and to
raise awareness of the needs of those with eczema. The Society's
helpline was run in house until 2001 when the Society asked
bss to work in conjunction with the
Society's own helpline advisers in order to manage significant
peaks in call volumes. The front line service was moved to
bss entirely in 2004 to enable the
Society to expand its opening hours and benefit from the enhanced
infrastructure including improved statistical analysis vital to
ensuring that the service continues to reflect and meet user
needs The Eczema
Helpline is the UK's only such service dedicated to providing
information, advice and guidance (IAG) to people affected by
eczema. Since 2004 , this unique helpline has been managed by IAG
experts, bss.
